NATURALLY PRODUCED BY THE SUN, WHATEVER THE SEASON, AND USED IN FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS.
EMITTED BY LEDS PRESENT IN COMPUTER SCREENS, TABLETS, SMARTPHONES, ETC.
Blue light is part of visible light and is close to UV on the light spectrum. It is both naturally produced by the sun and emitted by LED light present in computer screens.
Because children’s lifestyle is more exposed to light than adults, children need extra protection. In addition, their eyes are not yet fully developed, so they are less protected from the harmful effects of UV and Blue-Light.
Children tend to spend a lot of time outdoors: On average, their annual UV exposure is three times higher than adults’. This is because children’s pupils are larger, meaning they let in more UV and Blue light. Furthermore, their crystalline lens is more transparent, meaning it is less efficient at filtering out UV.
Blue light comes from the sun and artificial light sources. Our environment is increasingly filled with blue light from computers, smartphones, tablets, etc. In combination with other factors, too much exposure can lead to Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMF.)
Anti-reflective coating (also called "AR coating or anti-glare coating") improves vision, reduces eye strain, and makes your eyeglasses look more attractive.
